Being a producer

Producers are well known in their financial role of investing in film or TV scripted programmes.

This is the top of the iceberg. For a producer, making a work means having a first or second opinion on any creative decision on top of taking all financial and legal risks by contracting with all creative, technical, financial contributors.

360° vision for each project

The Producer is the only person involved in a film / TV project with a micro and a macro view on all the creative and business aspects of a specific project from the creative and development phase through raising financing, producing and ensuring the optimal market exposure and exploitation of the resulting film/TV work.

Creative in each project

The Producer is an indispensable and key element in the Creative Triangle formed by the Producer, the Director(s) and the Scriptwriter(s). The Producer continuously provides creative input through all stages of project development, pre-production, shooting, post-production, marketing and distribution.

Incubator for each project

Producer is always the ‘first audience’ of a project in development and, in many cases, creates the concept for a film / TV project. Producers initiate projects, develop ideas and appoint Scriptwriters and Director(s). Producers may also be approached by a Scriptwriter and/or a Director looking for a business partner to develop a given project. There is no particular formula – the process is organic and adapted to each individual situation and project. Each project has its own development process and where applicable, ensuing business plan.

Optimizer for each project distribution

The growing range of offline and online distribution opportunities – with less revenues generated per viewer compared to former distribution channels – necessitates more agility and flexibility on the part of the Producer in order to achieve the widest possible audience exposure and the best recoupment of the investments in development and production. It is a prerequisite to make a production company sustainable: recoup investments and costs incurred and build capital to launch new projects.
